Concrete removal in Amsterdam

Concrete removal requires assessment of the component, reinforcement and structural function. We discuss concrete floors, walls and other elements in Amsterdam using drawings, photos and, where needed, a site visit.

Floors, walls and foundations

A finishing layer, a slab on the ground and a suspended structural floor are different components. Material alone does not tell us what can safely be removed. Edge beams, connections, reinforcement and concealed services can affect the scope.

Foundation removal is a separate structural task. Provide existing drawings and the proposed new arrangement. Missing information may require investigation before a method or price can be agreed.

Concrete cutting and breaking

Cutting can define boundaries and divide concrete into manageable pieces. Breaking may suit removal within an assessed scope. Thickness, reinforcement, access and surrounding structures determine the choice.

A low-vibration method is not necessarily vibration-free. The tools and sequence must suit adjacent building elements. Discuss retained finishes, vulnerable structures and restrictions in the building.

Dust, water and equipment

Concrete work may require suitable extraction or water management. Dust suppression, electrical arrangements and collection of wet residue need to match the work area. A machine must fit through the access route and respect permitted floor loads.

Diamond drilling is different from large-scale slab removal. State whether the task is an opening, local removal or an entire concrete element; these need different equipment and preparation.

Reinforcement and structural boundaries

Steel reinforcement cannot be treated as an incidental obstacle. Its role, connections and the retained structure need assessment. Temporary support and the order of removal follow project-specific expert documentation where required.

Do not assume that a visible line or an old drawing identifies a safe cut. If the construction differs from the documents, the scope needs reassessment.

Heavy waste and Amsterdam access

Concrete is heavy, and transport can be a significant part of the job. Agree piece sizes, permitted lift loads, stairs, lifting equipment and collection locations. Space for a skip or equipment on the street needs address-specific checks.

The quotation records the removal boundary, waste route and included protection. Reinstatement, new concrete and structural modifications are separate agreed items.

What is included?

The quotation lists removed components and layers, protection and waste arrangements. Structural provisions, service adjustments and reinstatement are included only where expressly specified.

Work sequence and safety

Photos and documents support the initial assessment. Where needed, a site visit or specialist information follows. Equipment, dust control, protection, sorting and handover fit the actual project. Unknown materials or structural functions require assessment before work continues.

Our ten-step process

Your Amsterdam property

Include the floor level, access route and permitted lift loads. Shared areas, homeowners’ association arrangements and any protected status are considered when preparing the work.

Frequently asked questions

Can any concrete floor be removed?

No. Its structural function, reinforcement, services and connections must be understood first.

Is concrete cutting vibration-free?

No general method can be promised to be vibration-free. The project and nearby structures determine the approach.

Does the price include waste removal?

Only where the waste volume, transport and processing are included in the quotation.

Can photos determine the method?

Photos help the first assessment. Structural documents, inspection or further investigation may also be required.
