Finish, underlay or structural floor
Removing a floor finish differs from demolishing a cement screed or structural concrete floor. List the layers that go and those that remain. A floor may include adhesive, boards, levelling compound, insulation and heating components.
Share the requirements for the new floor. The next installer determines whether adhesive residue, loose material or a levelling layer needs to be removed and what repairs are necessary.
Tiles and stone floor tiles
Tile adhesion and the substrate affect removal effort. A tile laid in mortar may require a different approach from one glued to boards or screed. Edges, skirting and door thresholds also need agreed boundaries.
A rate per square metre is useful only when the layers, access and waste arrangements are comparable. State whether the quote concerns tiles alone or also adhesive and deeper layers.
Parquet, laminate and glued flooring
Floating laminate usually has different fixings from glued parquet or vinyl. Adhesive condition and the material beneath influence the method. Large boards, perimeter details and reusable components should be identified before work.
For reuse, agree the desired condition and who receives the removed material. Dismantling intact is a different task from demolition and disposal.
Underfloor heating and concealed services
Heating pipes, electrical mats and other services must be located and assessed. Supply installation drawings, available photos and the floor build-up. A guarantee that heating will remain intact is not justified without this information.
Testing and repairs to the heating system are arranged with the appropriate installer. If its position or the layers are unclear, the scope needs further assessment.
Dust, rubble and the new floor
The tools, extraction and protection follow the material and access. In an apartment, transport through shared stairs or a lift may influence labour more than the room size.
Removal does not automatically leave a level, dry or installation-ready substrate. Specify the expected end condition and arrange any grinding, levelling, repairs or new screed separately.
What is included?
The quotation lists removed components and layers, protection and waste arrangements. Structural provisions, service adjustments and reinstatement are included only where expressly specified.

Costs and programme
A reliable price and duration follow assessment of the scope, materials and access. Include your preferred date. Documents, safe service release and permissions may affect the start.

Work sequence and safety
Photos and documents support the initial assessment. Where needed, a site visit or specialist information follows. Equipment, dust control, protection, sorting and handover fit the actual project. Unknown materials or structural functions require assessment before work continues.
Your Amsterdam property
Include the floor level, access route and permitted lift loads. Shared areas, homeowners’ association arrangements and any protected status are considered when preparing the work.
Frequently asked questions
What does tile removal cost per m²?
That depends on adhesion, layers, area, access and disposal. A quotation needs the same defined scope to be comparable.
Can underfloor heating stay?
Only after assessment of its position and the floor build-up. Retention cannot be promised for every floor.
Do you also remove glued parquet?
This can be included. Provide photos and describe the required condition of the substrate.
Is levelling included?
Only when expressly quoted. Removal, substrate repair and levelling are distinct tasks.
